In the dark days before Hasbro finally gave us male ponies, many of us resorted to improvising and declaring certain ponies male even if Hasbro said otherwise. I had a friend who used to insist that you had to make all the “yucky ones” boys but it turns out that every friend I had had a different idea of which ones the yucky ones were.
I’ve always thought it was interesting to see which ponies some people made male or female and others didn’t. How about you? Did you flip the genders on any of your ponies?
I had 2 sets of Doodles and Noodles. I lost one of the Noodles (I think? lol the pink one) so I made both of the Doodles boy/girl twins. One I named Aundreya and the boy I named Blue Eyes. Other than that I think I just assumed any blue pony that looked like a boy was a boy otherwise they were all girls lol.
fur sure! Floater was a guy, Nightglider, Sugarsweet, Stormy(RB Sunlight), Masquerade(pretty much all MLPs in that pose: it’s manly), SS Shady, Kingsley. I had one friend & we decided on gender basically based on what I’d logic out to be suitable mates explaining suitable offspring. I think Nightglider and Beach Ball(we did not call her that, but I don’t recall what her name was) had Sparkle Baby Gusty cuz ball rubber made the hot air balloon to rise into in the starry sky and Beach Ball’s hair turned magenta, so the special night quality of Glider combined with a sunshine pony reversed that property somehow and Gusty’s hair was always magenta.
Majesty, Gusty, a lot of the unicorns actually… lol
Hmm… any reason in particular? 😉
I always seemed to match up ponies that… matched. I would marry them off based on which color combinations seemed pleasing to me.
