When Mattel took the makers of Bratz to court they demanded over $2 billion in damages since the toy designer was working at Mattel when he came up with the idea for the dolls.

The house that Barbie build won the case but instead of the $2 billion, Bratz only owes Mattel $40 million according to the ruling.

Considering that Bratz dolls bring upwards of $500 million annually, Mattel is probably none too pleased.
