My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic’s Rarity is the coloring of G1 Glory with the symbol of G1 Sparkler? Not to mention there was already a perfectly good pony named Rarity…
Unless we’re just supposed to believe that she’s the same pony who’s just had a *lot* of work done…
And what’s the deal with giving Rainbow Dash Wings?
Haha, yes! It took me so long to notice that. I think they want her to be what Firefly was in the original cartoon.
Hasbro lost a lot of it’s licences with the names. Keep in mind, G1’s Firefly’s Adventure had enough appeal to draw in male and adult audiences, as well as it’s target demographic of young to teenage girls. Friendship Is Magic is trying to blend that type of appeal combined with innocence to make a show that if enjoyable for anyone and everyone. Rarity is an example of that mash-up; bringing the old and the new together to create something very similar for fans of all the generations.
